I found a post on Quora about “Can I make a High Traffic website alone?”   One of the replies was particularly interesting.

It told of Daniel Delong and his website Viral Nova.  He took it to millions of visitors and millions in revenue in 8 months.   The formula was simple – Pick a topic, look at competitors, Post – post – post and post again. The reply referenced above can give more details. Continue reading

Significant revisions are coming to H-1B – Spouses will no longer be included

The Trump Administration is looking into revoking the automatic ability of spouses of H-1B workers to automatically be qualified to work. According to a CNN article:

“Since 2015, the spouses of H-1B, or high-skilled, visa holders waiting for green cards have been eligible to work in the U.S. on H-4 dependent visas, under a rule introduced by President Obama’s administration. The tech sector is a major employer of H-1B visa holders, a category of visas for highly skilled jobs.”

Check the Career Path section of your DICE profile

There is a section that is in Beta as of Sept 2017 in your Dice profile.

If you edit your profile in dice, go down to Career Path. You should see job titles that would apply to your experience. For each title, there are skills with either a check or a plus. If there is a plus, you can add that skill (assuming you have it).   It is a very handy tool to help you find some very important skills that you might not have added to your skillset.

NPR interview on “the rise of the robots” – Interesting take on the future of the job market.

I was driving and happened to tune into NPR. It was about an interview with Martin Ford, author of “The Rise of the Robots”.

Ford discussed the previous industrial revolution where the revolution proceeded in stages: agriculture, industry, the service industries.  He stated that the robotics revolution will be different in that it will affect all industries at once.
